Classification of sealant strips:

1. vulcanized rubber sealant

Generally, it is three meta EPR material. 2. silicone rubber sealant

The disadvantage is that the mechanical strength is the worst in rubber materials and is not resistant to oil. Use the temperature range of -100~+300 C. It can be applied to high temperature, cold, ultraviolet radiation areas and high-rise buildings.

3. chloroprene sealant (CR)

Compared with other special rubber, the individual performance is poor, but the overall performance balance is good. It has excellent weatherability, ozone resistance, heat aging resistance, oil resistance and solvent resistance. It has good chemical resistance and excellent flame resistance, and has good adhesion. Storage stability is poor, storage will occur during the phenomenon of hardening, cold resistance is not good. The relative density is larger. It is usually black products. It is used in environment with oil resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance. Use the temperature range of -30~+120 C.

4. NBR rubber seal

The main characteristics are oil resistant and solvent resistant, but not resistant to ketones, esters, chlorinated hydrocarbons, etc., with good elasticity and mechanical properties. The disadvantage is that it is easy to be aged and cracked in ozone and oxidation, and has low cold resistance and low temperature resistance.

5. thermoplastic elastomer sealant

With good elasticity and excellent wear resistance, good oil resistance, hardness adjustable range (Shaw A hardness 65~80), mechanical properties (tensile strength, elongation at break) superior, excellent cold resistance and chemical resistant interwoven corrosion resistance, high prices of raw materials. It is a reusable material. Use the temperature range of -60~+80 C. It is suitable for areas with strong vibration, such as earthquake prone areas, railway lines or powerhouses with large power cranes, and strong ultraviolet radiation areas.

6. thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) sealant

It has the flexibility and elasticity of rubber. It can be produced by plastic processing, without vulcanization, waste can be recovered and reused. It is a material with wide range of performance. The heat resistance, cold resistance, relative density, oil resistance and solvent resistance are similar to the chloroprene rubber, and the permanent deformation and wear resistance are not very good. Use the temperature range of -40~+150 C. It can be applied to cold and middle high buildings.

 

7. plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PPVC) sealant

The material is cheap and easy to obtain, with corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, acid alkali and various chemical medium, burning resistance and high mechanical strength; the disadvantage is that the plasticizer in the coordination system is easy to migrate, becomes brittle, inelastic, aging, weatherability and low temperature performance is poor as time goes on. It is usually dark colored. It is suitable for occasions where light intensity is not strong, temperature changes little, and climatic conditions are not bad.

8. surface coating material

The surface of the sealing strip is coated with polyurethane, organosilicon, polytetrafluoroethylene and other substances to replace the traditional technology of surface flocking. The coated sealing strip has good wear resistance and smoothness, especially the sealing strip after coating the silicone surface coating. The friction coefficient of the surface is small, which is beneficial to the sliding of the door and window fan. It is suitable for doors and windows with sliding doors and window sashes. It is a substitute for traditional silicified wool.
