Why is EPDM sealant applied so widely?

Ethylene propylene diene sealant is a copolymer of ethylene, propylene and a small amount of non conjugated dienes of the third monomer. Its international name is Ethyiene Propyene Diene Methyliene (EPDM for short). It has excellent UV resistance, weather resistance, heat aging resistance, low temperature resistance, ozone resistance, chemical medium resistance, water resistance, good electrical insulation, elasticity and other physical and mechanical properties. These advantages are irreplaceable by PVC and other materials.

EPDM sealant strip has excellent weather resistance. Weather resistance refers to the ability to resist cold, heat and dryness for a long time. It has excellent corrosion resistance against rain, snow and water, and can completely extend the service life of the adhesive strip.

EPDM sealant strip has heat aging resistance, which means it has strong heat aging resistance to air. It can be used at 100-120 ℃ for a long time, and can maintain effective physical properties at 140-150 ℃ for a long period of time. It can withstand high temperature of 230-260 ℃ in a short period of time, which can play a delay role in case of sudden accidents in urban buildings; In addition, with special formula, EPDM has similar handle at - 50 ℃ to 150 ℃, which creates high efficiency performance for on-site installation.

EPDM sealant strips have excellent physical and mechanical properties, so they are often used to manufacture waterproof parts such as aircraft, cars, trains, passenger cars, ships, high and low voltage switchgear, glass curtain walls, aluminum alloy heat break windows, diving products, high-pressure steam hoses, tunnels, high bridge joints, and other industrial and agricultural sealing parts.
