Introduction to EPDM sealing strip

Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) is polymerized by adding a small amount of non conjugated dienes to ethylene and propylene monomers. Its structural feature is that there is no unsaturated double bond on the main chain of the polymer molecule, while the unsaturated double bond is introduced on the branch chain. Therefore, it has excellent weather resistance, heat resistance, ozone resistance, UV resistance, good processing performance and low compression permanent deformation, and is the preferred material for the production of sealing strips. At present, the vast majority of automotive sealing strip materials use EPDM as the main raw material.

According to the different parts and functions of the sealing strip, vulcanization, protection, reinforcement, operating system materials and special endowing materials (such as colorant and foaming agent) are added to the EPDM materials in practical applications to form dense rubber (including black rubber and colored rubber) and sponge rubber.

The automotive sealing strip is mainly made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber foam and dense composite with good elasticity, compression resistance, aging resistance, ozone resistance, chemical action, and a wide range of operating temperatures (- 40 ℃~+120 ℃). It contains unique metal clamps and tongue shaped buckles, which are sturdy, durable, and easy to install.
